Indian for dinner

Dave and I LOVE Indian food and Cincinnati had the best! However we are still looking for a good Indian spot in Utah. I heard about Indian sauces in a jar from a friend and found them at the commissary. They can be found in the International section at the commissary, I have not looked for them other places. Dave and I really enjoy this dish for when we are craving Indian at home it hits the spot.
Now, it is NOT as good as going out but it is cheap and fast. We have had it a few times and this time after doing some google searching I made a few changes and it made all the difference!
It is super easy to make. I just follow the directions on the jar and we use chicken. This time I added cumin, salt and pepper when the chicken was cooking. Then after I added the sauce I added 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt, 1 tablespoon of butter then add chili powder and garlic powder to taste. We eat it with rice and nan. Dave went back for seconds and then we ate it for dinner tonight. I just thought I would share our new favorite recipe!

I forgot to take a picture before we ate dinner so there is not much left.

Quinn and I are eating cereal for extra dinner because we ate so much yesterday we didn't have enough for everybody to be full on leftovers.

Trip Home

Last weekend Quinn and I surprised my mom and dad and went home for our annual Patrick family Easter egg hunt. It was so much fun to surprise them! I was really nervous about flying with Quinn by myself but it ended up being okay.... after I drank a glass of wine at 9 o'clock in the morning. Quinn was a rockstar on the plane and that really helped. She made lots of new friends and watched a few episodes of her favorite cartoon on the Ipad.
At the Easter egg hunt their were 66 family members. I LOVE having a big family! It was so much fun and Quinn had a great time too. She also got really spoiled and got a HUGE easter basket with lots of fun things. Every time Quinn put an egg in her basket she would start to clap, it was super cute.
The rest of the trip was fun also. Q and Nolan played the whole time and they were so cute together. I got to see both of my besties and many of my family members, it really was a fantastic weekend and we got Milton's donuts. We CAN NOT wait to go back and visit for a few weeks this summer!

Sunday Funday

Today was such a great day. The weather was beautiful (it could have been a little warmer for me) and the sun was shining. We were so productive. We did our 2 week grocery shopping. I have started shopping for 14 days and it makes it so nice to not have to go to the store every single week. Quinn also decided to help me put the garbage bags in the freezer, she is such a great helper!

I have been wanting a new swing for the backyard since we moved and I finally got one today. Dave put it together, he also put together Quinn's new climbing toy and I put together her new water table. I got the easy job, it took me a total of 5 minutes and Dave was putting things together for about 2 hours.

Quinn LOVED her water table and was pouring the water on her head and cracking up. Dave cut the grass and Quinn and I rocked on the swing until she took a little nap. Today made me so excited for spring and summer! I am counting down the days until I am out of school and Quinn and I get to play with all our new toys everyday!

We ended the evening by grilling out and it was the end to a perfect Sunday. The weekends always go by way too fast!

Weekends are good, Life is good!

The Rest of Hawaii

We spent the weekend before we left Hawaii at the North Shore and had a great time. Our condo was super cute and the beach was amazing. Their were only a few people on the beach and we really enjoyed our time relaxing. We went to Sunset beach where Dave proposed and watched the sunset one night and it was so fun to talk about the proposal again.

Our Condo didn't have a bathtub so we had to give Quinn a bath in the sink. I don't really think she minded. The Easter bunny made a stop in Hawaii and Quinn loved all her new toys.

We spent the last night back at the Hale Koa so we could go to Duke's one more time. Duke's is our most favorite restaurant in Hawaii. Quinn was so cute in her fancy dress and little sweater. Our dinner was great and the view was amazing. We drank a few more lava flows and ate some amazing fish. Overall our trip was great and we can't wait to go back!!

Trip to the North Shore

On Friday we headed to the North Shore for the weekend. We got engaged on the North Shore and love how it is so much less crowded than Waikiki. We decided to stop at our wedding spot in downtown Honolulu before driving to our condo. We didn't have our camera the day we got married so I took some self shots. Dave and I had a great time reliving our crazy wedding day and all the funny things that happened that day.

On the drive up we stopped at the Dole Plantation to have a little train ride and eat some delicious pineapple whip. It is soft serve pineapple ice cream and it is AMAZING. We decided to shake it up a bit and got a pineapple float which included pineapple whip and pineapple juice. Quinn loved the train ride and she was flirting with the little boy sitting behind us. The weather was beautiful and it was a great day.

We stopped at this little grill and got some burgers to go. They even had fry sauce! It was close to BYU Hawaii so that explained the fry sauce.

After we got our stuff unloaded into our condo we took a walk on the beach. Quinn just loves the water and we couldn't keep her out, it was a little chilly so we really didn't want her playing in it. The beach was beautiful and there was hardly anybody else out. I just love this picture!!

Luau

Since this was our third trip to Hawaii we thought maybe we should go to a luau. They have one at the Hale Koa where we stayed and it got pretty good reviews and since it was right there we decided to pick that one. The flier said to get there at 5:30 and the luau would start at 6. We were all excited because we got to the gate at 5:25 and thought we might actually be early/on time for something (GASP!). However, the line to get in was SO LONG it went from the Luau gate all the way to the beach walkway..... a pretty long walk. Dave and I were cracking up at ourselves, I guess everybody else got there a little more than 5 minutes early.
Quinn got a cute little hawaiian dress for the occasion. I tried to get Dave to get matching family Luau outfits but he wasn't interested.
The entertainment before the show was good and Quinn looked so cute watching them. We had nice people at our table and the food was okay, Dave thought it was good, I voted "okay". It was so cute because Quinn was sitting at the end of our table and all of a sudden she started clapping and yelling "yeah". Then she started pointing so we looked over, they had brought out the pineapple cake. She loves her food. The show was very good and overall it was a good experience and I am glad we decided to finally go.
