Air Show

Today we went to the Air Show. We were super lucky and were able to get a pass so that we didn't have to go through the main gate and wait in the long lines. It was a lifesaver because it was hot and we had a ton of stuff because of the kids. We heard while we were there today they had 350,000 people at the show on Saturday, that is insane!
It was very hot but we were lucky to find some shade under a plane wing and relax. Quinn did not like the loud planes so we were quite a ways away from the flight line but could still see some of the planes. She didn't want to wear her ear protection at first but quickly let us put it on her.

I love these three.

After eating our snacks Dave took Quinn through a plane and we watched some planes fly. We also all went through a big cargo plane and Quinn even got a sticker from a pilot getting out of his airplane.

She was all about Daddy today. I don't know if it was because he was gone all day yesterday or if she knew mommy wasn't really excited about all the "plane" stuff. She wanted to walk with Daddy and have Daddy take her to touch the plane.

After a few hours both kids were passed out and it was time for the Thunderbirds to fly. We knew base would be a madhouse after their show was done so we skipped out right before they started. Dave saw it yesterday and I didn't mind missing it.

On the way home we saw a bunch of people sitting out in a park near our house. We turned around and sure enough we were able to see almost all of the Thunderbird show right there. It was a win-win, we got to see the show and we didn't have to deal with any traffic.

The Air Force is good, life is good.

Saturday Trip

On Saturday Dave had to work the Air Show so the kids and I took a trip to the aquarium. We have a pass and have been a few times since the new one opened and Quinn loves it. It is about a 45 minute drive and I realized on the way down that I forgot the baby carrier and was just going to keep Leo in the stroller, no big deal. Then we got there and I got the double stroller out and realized I forgot the attachment for his car seat! So, he had to ride in the bottom seat where Quinn usually rides and she had to walk. It ended up working out, just looked a little strange. Quinn also wasn't really happy about "Weo" being in "her seat."

Checking out her brick and looking at the Fish.

Leo just hung out in his seat the whole time. He is so calm and just goes with whatever we are doing. Quinn loves looking at the fish and she is a fan of the big shark tank wall. She doesn't like to go through the shark tunnel so we hurry through that part and then stand at the big tank forever.

The penguins are her absolute favorite. We could just sit at the penguin exhibit all day. She gets so excited when they swim by.

We had so much fun at the aquarium, Quinn loved it and Leo enjoyed eating his fist. I can't believe how big she is getting and how much she knows/remembers. We looked at the "Nemo" tank several times and spent a lot of time at the aquarium finding fish, turtles, sharks and stingrays that are in "Nemo." She picked out a pink seahorse from the gift shop and carried it around the rest of the day. In case you did not know this, Quinn informed me that seahorses say "neigh", smart girl.

On the way home we had to stop by City Creek Mall and pick up my bracelet from Tiffany's that was getting fixed. Quinn tripped on the way and skinned her knee. She was very upset (I think because there was a visual reminder that she was hurt rather than the actual pain) and was telling the security guard she had a "boo boo." He went and got her a Tiffany's blue candy cane and she put it on her boo-boo to make it feel better. She loved that candy cane. Dave is in big trouble if she already loves Tiffany's this early.

This mall also has a Disney Store so we had to stop in and watch the movie screen and spin in front of the princess mirror. Quinn was spoiled that day and got some new Frozen silverware.

Both kids refused to nap that day which made us all tired by time Dave got home from the show. It was a fun day and I am feeling very confident in my ability to take both kids out by myself for an enjoyable time. I had to finish the day with a quick Leo "selfie."

Fish are good, life is good.

Wednesday Happenings

Today we met some friends at a local aquatic center for some pool time. Just let me tell you, going to the pool was much easier before children. It takes forever to get all of us ready, in the car and to the actual water! Quinn wasn't sure about it at first but then she decided she liked it. Leo floated in his float for a little while and appeared to like it also.
My friend recommended a sunscreen called Blue Lizard and it works awesome. We were at the pool for about 90 minutes and none of us even had a little bit of a tan line.
We swam, ate lunch and then headed home for naps. Their naps overlapped for about 30 minutes which is a lifesaver for me. I can actually get something done!

She does not like to hold him. Every time I try to get her to hold him for a picture she just pushes him away and yells "No Leo, no Leo."

He can not get enough of his jumper. He will jump in this thing forever! He was my little laundry buddy today while sister napped.

I made my first batch of baby food today also. I ordered this squeeze station and was so excited to try it.  I used my Vitamix to puree the food and then you pour it into the top tubes and push into the pouches. I made Leo bananas and Quinn strawberry, banana, and yogurt pouches.

This was my little helper. I think he is starting to get spoiled being home with me. He wants to be with me all the time! Which can be very hard but I know he will be big like Quinn in no time so I just strap him on and go about my day.

Here is a little more of the food making process. It was very easy and I can't wait to make a lot more. This was just a trial run for me to see how it worked and see if I liked it. Well I LOVED it so I'm ready to fill my freezer with Leo's food and sneak in some veggies into Quinn's pouches.

Leo had bananas tonight for dinner and he actually ate it. I ordered the spoon attachment for the pouches which makes feeding him so easy. I think I am going to like making his food!

Dave and Leo were hanging out on the couch together and I walked in the living room to find Dave passed out and Leo ready to play. I just love this picture of my guys.

Sunshine is good, life is good.

New Pharmacy Opening

On Monday there was a ribbon cutting ceremony for the construction completion of the new satellite pharmacy. This is a project that Dave and all the pharmacy has worked so hard on for the past year and it is very exciting that it is almost ready to open! The satellite will open towards the end of July and will help to provide better service for the active duty and retirees here at Hill.
I didn't get many pictures of the actual ceremony because I was busy keeping Quinn and Leo quiet. Quinn kept saying "that's my daddy talking."
We enjoyed the ceremony, the tour of the pharmacy and the cake and punch. We will also enjoy Dave not working so much once it finally opens (at least that is what he is telling us...).

We finally got a picture of the 4 of us where nobody is crying or being hidden under a blanket, it only took 5 months.

Hard work is good, life is good.

Vegas Trip

In early April we went down to Vegas for a quick weekend trip. Some of my family was there for the CMA's and it was fun to see them. This was Quinn's 5th trip to Vegas in her life. Going with 2 kids was a little more challenging but we made it work and we still had fun. I can't get over the amount of "stuff" we need for a 2 night trip with these little people (I was not a light packer before kids either...).

This was before we left. She LOVES boots and was very excited that she got some new pink rain boots.
On Friday night we got in late so we were only able to get dinner before bed. Quinn loved the Rainforest Cafe. She was excited about all the animals and loved to see the fish. In general, she just loves Vegas. When we walked over to eat she was excited about all the lights and Cinderella's Castle (The Excaliber), we just agreed.

We were there in August with my parents but it was different since then. The bridge in front of NYNY is very cool. We are going back over the 4th of July weekend so it will be fun to see if anything else is new.
Leo is the coolest baby ever! He loves to be in the Baby Bjorn carrier and since we were in Vegas we HAD to put him in Carlos style. We were cracking ourselves up. People gave us some looks for having 2 children in Vegas but we didn't care. On a positive note, nobody tries to give you "free" club tickets or numbers for prostitutes.

On Saturday we went to the Hoover Dam. My cousin Todd went with us and it was fun to spend time with him. Of all the times we have been to Vegas together (I have really lost count) we decided to do the Hoover Dam Tour. It was pretty interesting. It is nice to have another person with you so we actually got pictures of the 4 of us!

We bet and watched some March Madness Saturday afternoon and then went to Cinderella's Castle for the Tournament of Kings dinner show. Quinn LOVED it. She loved the horses and the fireworks. It was a pretty fun show and it was nice that the kids could go and that Q enjoyed it.
Dave was able to go gambling after we got back to the hotel and the kids went to bed. I don't like to gamble so it was nice for me to be able to relax after the kids were sleeping and watch whatever I wanted on TV (funny how post children vacations change!).

Sunday we got up and had breakfast with the family. Then we took the tram (Quinn thought it was a train) down to the Bellagio and watched the water show. She enjoyed the tram ride, all the flowers and the water show. Dave got to gamble some more and I got my famous Aria coke.
We had a great time and loved seeing our family. We love Vegas and already have 2 more trips planned this summer.

This is from November but I found it on my computer while looking for pictures for this post. Here Quinn is with her favorite stuffed animals.
