Last Day of our Cruise

I have taken a little hiatus from the blog because life has been busy and I have been lazy! Wow, I have missed so many things on here!! I guess I should go ahead and finish our cruise before I try and get as caught up as possible. Looking at these pictures makes me want to plan another cruise ASAP.
The last day of our cruise we ported (is that a word? ported?) well.... we did, we ported in Split, Croatia.
Checking out Split as we pulled into port.
We loved the fancy breakfast we got to eat since we were living the suite life!
Dave ate steak and eggs and I ate crab cake and eggs (with bacon too!) and it was all so delicious! I also love when Dave is off work long enough to grow a beard. I wish he could grow one more often, he looks GOOD!! :)

The weather was a little wet when we first got off the boat but it ended up being a beautiful day. It was an easy walk from the port to the town. Our first stop was to explore Diocletian's Palace (or what is left of it). The city is over top of these amazing Catacombs you could walk through. It was so much fun and really neat. I guess there are also some Game of Throne scenes filmed in here so Dave was also happy about that.

These are ancient Roman sewer pipes.

The kids had a great time running around and exploring all the different paths and doorways.

Finley wasn't feeling all the pictures, it was probably nap time right about now.

The Catacombs were my favorite part of the day and we spent a lot of time exploring them. I really loved all the arched ceilings and told Dave I want some of those in our forever home. ;)

Croatia is full of stray cats! The kids loved the cats the most I am pretty sure.

After the Catacomb's we headed out to explore the rest of the city. The sun was shining and we enjoyed strolling through the streets. Split is on the top of my list for favorite European cities, it was a great day!

We stopped for some water and popsicles before Dave made us hike up the top of a hill.... he makes us do this on every.single.trip!!! We have also learned to stop in a grocery store to grab water and popsicles and it is much cheaper than going to an ice cream shop!

I guess the hike up the hill was worth the view.

We took a different way down the hill and went down several back roads and enjoyed looking at all the houses.

The city soccer team logo was everywhere, Dave ended up buying a shirt before we left.
We found cats taking naps on scooters.
After all the walking we needed to eat. I took the safe choice of pork and Dave ended up with a fish that was looking at him!

Our view at lunch in the little courtyard restaurant was somebody hanging their laundry out to dry.

In the Cathedral of the Palace.

We had the best day in Split and really can't wait to return to the city again. We walked back to the boat to have our last night on the cruise, so sad!!

Getting ready to sail out to sea.

The last night's dinner was hilarious. Our kids were so tired and we made reservations at the steak house. The big kids did pretty good but Finley was a bit of a wild one. Luckily we had some really awesome people sitting around us and they understood and nobody gave us dirty looks. At one point at dinner she was sitting in her chair and all of a sudden just fell out of it and rolled under the table, I am not really sure now what prompted her falling but we just continued our conversation. Then we started laughing hysterically because since she wasn't crying we didn't even skip a beat and just left her under the table! She ended up passing out and we got to eat some delicious dessert.

Our last towel animal.
I can not even put in words how amazing our cruise was. It was hands down one of the best vacations we have ever taken. The kids still talk about it all the time and ask to go on a cruise ship again. We were able to see so many amazing places and enjoyed the best family time ever, we ate way too much food and relaxed in the sun. We will be going on another cruise (or 2) before we leave Europe.

Cruises are good, life is good!
