Randoms

This post is kind of random. I was sitting at my computer and felt like I should do something productive but didn't want to use a lot of brain power so I just grabbed a few pictures off my drop box to share. I really love doing my blog and especially now that I am turning my blog into yearly books but it is a lot of work and very time consuming! I am always behind which makes me sad but I will just do as much as I can which will be better than nothing.
My kids are the best and they are always making me laugh (well today they made me want to start drinking at noon... but most of the time, they make me laugh!). Leo is into EVERYTHING. He is moving nonstop and will not sit still unless he is on my lap. I went into Quinn's bathroom to do her hair the other day and he was playing with a toy on the floor of my bedroom (see it in the background of the picture below). I went back to check on him and he had made his way over to her Ipad. He wants anything Quinn has and she always makes sure to tell him "no Weo".
He has been so fussy the last few days (as in not sleeping the other night from 1-7am) and today I noticed his second tooth has poked through. Hopefully he will go back to sleeping for more than 2 hours at a time, I would greatly appreciate it. He is also going through a total mommy phase and wants ONLY me ALL the time. Today was pretty rough, if I was not holding him, he was crying. When Dave holds him, he cries and looks for me and as soon as I take him, he is fine. On days that are really hard I remember a blog I read somewhere that said "you will never be more loved than you are right now" and that helps me to not scream (literally).

We always have laundry laying around our house. I should just get over this idea that I will ever have a clean house. There is always something to do and clothes to put away. I was trying to get ready (which is fun with 2 children) and Quinn found a pair of Dave's shorts. She said "look, daddy shorts" and put them on by herself. (I figured we were already running so late that taking a few seconds to snap a few pictures for memories sake wouldn't hurt.) She is too funny.
I have been asking her if things she has done are "on purpose or an accident." Today she was coloring in her princess castle and I hear her say "I did that on purpose", so I take a look inside and she has colored all over the inside of the tent.
I can no longer use the "I'm going to count to 3" method to get her to listen because she just starts laughing and counting "1, 2, 3, 4, 5...".

The other weekend we drove down to Salt Lake to a place called the Tracy Aviary. It was a little bird park inside of a huge park downtown. Quinn loves birds so she was a happy girl. We really enjoyed our time there, so much that we bought a season pass. It is big enough to be worth the drive and small enough to be a quick half day trip.

Leo will not suck on a pacifier but he will chew on the side of it. As long as it makes him happy, I really don't care.

We always laugh about Quinn having a large head and while we were at the park we decided to get our picture in this lovely photo opportunity. Quinn was not able to get her head out because it was stuck. Dave and I were laughing so hard that she was stuck for just a minute until we could pull ourselves together to get her out.
I found this cute picture while playing around on dropbox. (Quinn has recently woke up at 9:45pm and is now helping me to write this blog.) She said "I'm a little baby like Weo." I can't believe how fast she is growing. It feels like just yesterday she was this little pumpkin. I remember thinking her hair was so long at this point because she actually had some!

Hope you enjoyed a few pictures of some happenings in our life lately. It is 10pm and both children have already woken up and the kitchen still needs cleaned and work/diaper bags need packed for tomorrow so it should be a fun evening in the Jarnot house.

Leo 6 month update

Leo turned 6 months while we were visiting Ohio so these pictures were taken a little bit after his "half birthday." Between 5 and 6 months Leo had some major changes! He started crawling, eating and got a bottom tooth. He has regressed in his sleeping through the night. I don't know if that is an age thing (teething maybe?) or because he is still a little off from our trip. I do know that I am exhausted!
He now will try to crawl in his crib and pull himself up. We need to lower it this weekend because it makes me nervous. He is on the move much sooner than Quinn and is already getting into everything!
His current favorite thing to do is knock over her princess table and start to chew on the legs. He is pulling himself up on the diaper pail, vacuum, Quinn's bed, really anything that he can get to.
If I am in the kitchen and he is upset, he will crawl into the kitchen and pull himself up onto my leg until I pick him up.
He also LOVES to eat. He wants food all the time and is a good eater. So far we have tried carrots, bananas, sweet potatoes, green peas and rice cereal. He gets super excited when he sees the food coming his way.
Overall he is a great baby. Almost always happy and very curious about his environment, especially now that he can crawl. He loves to play with this little piano toy we have and eat any frozen chewy you give him. I love his smile and how he always raises his left eyebrow.

This was a "parenting of the year" picture right here. This was taken about .01 seconds before he fell and bashed his head on the chair.

Charlie is such a good boy. Anytime I yell at Charlie, Quinn will say "mommy don't be mean to my Charlie. He a good boy." I love how he lets the kids do whatever they want and he will just lay there.

I think he is getting in a few more teeth judging by the amount of drool he puts out.

I feel like I always say this but I really can't believe he is already 6 months old. I keep thinking to myself, "this time last year I was pregnant with him!" I guess it is because he is the second and life is super busy but time is going faster with him and it makes me so sad. I love watching Quinn and Leo interact with each other. She often takes his toys and makes him cry (we are constantly working on the sharing) and I have even caught her trying to pick him up and move him away from her toys a few times. She lovingly refers to him as a dragon that tries to get her princesses.
He is a sweet sweet boy and I am so happy he is ours!

Last minute trip to Antelope Island

Tonight we decided to go to Antelope Island to watch the sunset. It was a last minute trip and I thought we would just take a little walk along the path with the kids and Charlie. As we were entering the park the gate attendant told Dave one of the best places to watch the sunset was up a gravel path by Buffalo Point. We both thought it was this small path and decided to do it.

As we started up it was much farther and steeper than I thought. Dave was wearing flip flops, Quinn crocs and me Toms, so we were not ready for any "hiking." Dave and Quinn were both all about it anyway and up we went. Dave and Charlie were the only ones to make it to the very top of the trail to see the sunset. We have been neglecting Charlie lately and I think he was very happy to get to enjoy the great outdoors.

I wanted to just sit on a bench with Quinn and Leo while Dave went to the top and we would just see him when he got back down but Q was not having that. As soon as she saw him start walking up the trial she said, "Daddy go to the top. Lets go mommy!" So on we went.... we didn't make it all the way but we went farther than I wanted!

A little Leo selfie while Dave and Quinn hiked too fast for this out of shape mama.

As we were leaving the park the car in front of us almost hit a buffalo because it was dark and it was standing in the middle of the road! It was a fun evening (minus getting West Nile Virus). Quinn loves to hike and it was nice to get outside and enjoy this beautiful place we live in.

More Ohio

We are back from Ohio and I am slacking in my blogging. I am so far behind. Leo is 6 months (really 6.5 now) and I still have not added his 6 month update. Actually, I am still not unpacked from our Ohio trip or caught up on laundry and I go back to work on Friday! This summer has gone very quickly.
This is a bit of randomness from our trip. I said before, Leo loved the pool. I think he is the cutest in his swim outfit. (Not to spoil his 6 month update but he has a tooth which is why he is loving chewing on the pool toys).

Quinn is not getting a tooth but apparently also likes to chew on pool toys. She is also a doll in her swimsuit. By the time we left Ohio she was swimming with a swim vest on by herself in the deep end and jumping off the diving board with help! She calls the pool the ocean and wanted to get in every single day (no matter what the weather was).

We recently got these really cool blocks off of Amazon and had to get some for grandma and grandpa's house while we were home. Quinn is really good at building with them (Dave thinks she might be an engineer some day). This was her Frozen castle (of course). Ever since we got back from Utah she looks at the mountains and says "The mountains like in Frozen."

We went to the Greek festival at home and ate some amazing food. The kids loved the games and Quinn thought the dancers were from The Little Mermaid (because the guys were wearing black pants, white shirts and a red belt... like Prince Eric wears). She likes to relate everything back to Disney movies.
I miss seeing these two kiddos together. They are so fun!

Leo loves to eat (a little more information from his 6 month update). He wants to eat Mum-mums all the time. If you eat in front of him and don't give him food, he gets ticked off. It is hard finding the time to feed him 3 meals a day and feed Quinn and nurse Leo and.. and... and.. ahhh life is busy!! He will make sure to let you know if he is hungry so he doesn't go without.

There is some more fun-ness from our trip home... don't worry, more to come when I get my camera hooked up to the computer.
