Charlie and Me

I think I should have named this blog.... Charlie and me. Yes, inspired by the movie Marley and Me. I have only seen part of that movie because I stopped watching before it got sad. I like to do that with movies (like the Notebook. I just stop watching when they are dancing together before she forgets him and then they die), I like happy endings much better than sad ones.
Anyway back to Charlie. This week has been crazy with him. He is so excited when I get home from work and he jumps (he now weighs about 95 lbs), jumping is not okay anymore. The other day he jumped on me and scratched my face, I spanked him, he proceeded to pee all over my leg and carpet. Then this morning he saw a bird and looked at the bird, looked at me, back at the bird then darted. I then had to run across 3 yards (in my pajamas) and chase him. That is always a great way to start your morning.
My solution to this Charlie situation is this..... We have now run the last 3 days together and everyday he is doing better. Our first run together he drug me on the ground for about 5 feet, we are making progress! We start puppy classes August 17th, hopefully after that, when I yell "stop" or "no" he will actually listen. I have also contacted a couple of places about doggy day care for a few days a week, just waiting to hear back from them. I will keep you updated on if this actually helps!

Here is cute little Charlie that was so easy to love!

Big Charlie that is really testing my patience!

Dave is doing good. I have been able to talk to him a lot this week. I just mailed his second care package so he should get that next weekend. He was throwing trash away the other day and a cat jumped out of the garbage. It looked like a lynx (I think that is what they are called). More like a cat you would see at the zoo then in somebody's house. When he emails me the picture I will upload it.

I went to a meeting on base last night and met some other women whose husband's are also deployed. It was really nice to talk to other people that are going thru the same thing I am and to hear what they are doing and how they are dealing with it. I look forward to going again. They meet once a month.

I am planning to do some things around the house and go to a bridal show with my mom and sister on Sunday. I will let you know how that goes. Enjoy your weekend!

Kevin's Birthday Dinner and such

Another week is over! I never thought I would wish time would fly like this. I get to talk to Dave pretty much everyday which has helped a lot. I sent him a care package with some things he needed and some snacks, he got it yesterday. The mail only takes a week to get to him which is nice. He is doing good, working a lot of hours so every time I talk to him he is very tired. One day I talked to him he was sitting in a massage chair so things must not be too bad : ) and he got to go to the movies on his day off. He has had a couple sandstorms since he has been there. I will keep you updated on him in the next post.

This week was busy for me, just like I like it! I got to see my friend Lauren finally, had dinner with my sister, Tabitha and baby Olivia, and this weekend I went to West Virginia to see old friends!

Yesterday was my little brother's birthday! He is 20 years old already, I can't believe it! Today we went to my sister's and Zane's for his birthday dinner. My family and a few of Kevin's friends and Kevin's date (yep he brought a girl!) ate dinner and played kan jam. It is a game one of Dave's friends showed us and my sister bought it. Here are some photos of the evening:

Me and my Daddy! Classic Scott pose.

Charlie has to be kept away from the game because he goes after the frisbee.

Action photos. My brother's friend Kara hit my mom right between her eyes, we were laughing so hard.

Sammy loves kan jam!

Well I must admit my guilty pleasure Teen Mom is on so I am going to go watch it. Hope you are having a great day!

What a crazy life this is!

It has been one week since Dave left and I CAN NOT believe how fast it went! This has been a pretty busy week and next week is looking just the same. First things first, Dave is doing very well.  I get to talk to him everyday thru email, skype or facetime. Let me just tell you how much I love my iphone! Facetime is so great, I get to see him and talk to him and it makes my whole day better. He is working really long hours and is tired but seems to be doing good. I mailed his first care package on Monday and am waiting to see how long mail takes to get to him. Here is his address if you ever want to mail him anything:

Capt. David R. Jarnot

Let's just say that this week has been pretty interesting in my neck of the woods. I am becoming so independent it is crazy. I hope this next story will make you laugh. I want to start out with saying that our house is not dirty at all and that I promise we clean, therefore I have no idea how this happened. Instead of retyping what I have already typed I am going to copy and paste 2 emails I sent to Dave. I have entered some information to help you understand some things:

This email was sent on Thursday July 15th

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG................you own me SO BIG. I am about to vomit on myself and am about to spend the next 17 hours cleaning our kitchen. Let me just tell you about the last 30 minutes of my life:

Charlie was breathing really heavy so I went to give him water... and he was out. Then I saw a bunch of water under his water bowl so I was like well I should clean that. Then I lifted up his food bowl to see if there was water under there too, and there was. AND there were 2 MAGGOTS. So I went and grabbed shout and started spraying them and then started to boil water to kill them (We learned you can kill maggots by throwing boiling water on them. We had to look this up the other week when Dave threw an entire bag of chicken wings in the trash a week before it was to go out and our outside trashcan left maggots all over the driveway!)  I was then like I need to dump this food out so I went out to the poop trash can (We keep a trashcan out back to dump the dogs "waste" in and then we take it out to the trash every week) to dump it out AND it was FILLED WITH MAGGOTS. The entire bottom of the bowl was just little white MAGGOTS. EWWWWWWW It was so gross. I screamed dropped his food bowl in the trash can of crap and went to get the boiling water. I threw boiling water in the crap trash can and then got the water/food holder and took it outside with the 2 maggots still in the bowl. So then I went and got the hose, garden gloves, had to hook the miracle grow thing to the hose (got soaking wet) picked up the bowl of dead maggots out of the crap trash can and sprayed it off. Pulled a Dave and threw the towel I carried his food bowl in and garden gloves away. I only saw one of the maggots out of the two that were in the water so now I have to clean the entire kitchen from top to bottom. HIs food and water bowl are in the dishwasher and his towel from upstairs and sammy's towel were both put in the washing machine. I am currently in the process of dumping out his food container in the cabinet and looking for MAGGOTS!!! Poor Charlie, I wonder how long they were there??? And we keep yelling at him for eating sammy's food and his was full of MAGGOTS!!!! Poor guy : (

Anyway...... this is my evening. It went from chinese cottage and SYTYCD bliss to picking up a crap covered bowl full of maggots out of a crap filled trash can : )

This email was sent today:

SO lets talk about my morning.........
Sammy went and pooped in the neighbors yard, of course! And I went and picked it up with the pooper scooper and went to the trash can to dump it in (the same trash can I threw Charlie's maggot filled food in and threw boiling water on top of melted crap). As I was doing that I noticed their were maggots crawling out of the trash can, all over the lid, on the side of the house, on the deck..... compleltey infested!!!!! So I kicked it (don't know why but I did) and there were so many maggots around the side of the lid, they just fell on the deck, like 100's of them, I am not kidding!!!! So I got boil water and got the bug spray from the garage. While the water is boiling I start spraying the entire can/house/ deck with bug killing spray. Those little shits don't die with that crap! So I go get boiling water and dump it on the house, deck, trashcan and then there are maggots everywhere floating in water. I then go in the kitchen get a trashbag and bags to put over my hands, spray the trash can and deck and house with the hose. Put the garbage bag over the top of the trash can with a note saying "throw the entire trash can away." And drag it to the street with the rest of the garbage. I am SO SO SO disgusted. The cloths I had on this morning are in the washer and as soon as I get home they are getting washed on HOT HOT HOT water. My head won't stop itching, I am never eating rice again, and now I am all nervous they are going to be all over our deck! Can those things get in our house through the sidding????? This is out of control. Just to make this story a little better............. all of this happened at about 6:50 this morning, so needless to say I was a little late to work. GEEEESH!!!
Well I hope you enjoyed this emails! Dave enjoyed reading them. Needless to say I have had some pretty awesome experiences this week!

Here are our doggies.... they are worth the trouble, I swear!

I had a girls night this week and it was SO needed! I have the best friends in the entire world. On Friday Liz, Dana, and Emily came up to my place for girls night. It was supposed to start at 6:30 but keeping with our normal form... they arrived at 8pm. We ate and caught up. They are the best group of girls ever, I feel so blessed to have them in my life. Dana ended up staying with me that night and we wanted to watch a movie. It took us over an hour to figure out how to watch the dang DVD. Dave has way way way too many gaming systems and a very complicated remote. We finally were able to watch New Moon at around 3am. The night ended at 6am... as the sun was rising. Just like old times!

On Saturday Dana and the kids came over and swam at my parent's house and then Saturday night I watched Gage and Teagan. Here are some pictures of our "play date".

They are just the cutest kids in the whole world!

Thanks for visiting our blog! I hope this brightened your day a bit! LiFe is GooD : )

First post-Dave left today

Hello all...Welcome to our blog. This is my first blog so it may be slow going at first. It has taken me about 30 minutes to figure out how to change the size of pictures so I can upload them on here. (thanks Erin!) We met some great people (Erin and Daniel) on our Hawaii trip who recommended starting a blog while Dave was deployed (they are also military), so here we are!
I will put Dave's address on tomorrow. I am currently locked in our bedroom (door locked, dogs inside room with me, alarm on, wine bottle next to the bed) do I don't want to go downstairs to get it. For those of you who aren't aware, I don't EVER EVER EVER stay anywhere by myself, so this deployment is really making me step out of my comfort zone!
Dave and I have a lot of plans while he is gone. I am going to be doing a lot to the house, planning our reception and running a 10k so make sure to come back and see what is new with us!

When I got to my parent's after work today to pick up the dogs my mom had made this sign and text the picture to Dave. She is so cute!
