Rough Night

This picture has nothing to do with last night. I just found it while getting a picture of Leo and loved it. She makes the funniest faces. I just want to squish her little face!!
Ok, on to last night.... it was bad, real bad. Finley must be growing because she is eating about every 1 1/2 hours which has me exhausted. Then Leo decided he is going to stop being a good sleeper. This week he learned how to open his door and it hasn't been the same since. He can now get out of his room and we have a battle every night to keep him in there. The bad part is that he is getting up before us and going downstairs. This is not very safe so we put up a baby gate last night and he DID NOT LIKE IT. He pretty much screamed for hours. After screaming and shaking the gate for a long time he finally fell asleep. Then of course, Finley decided to be up. I was up with one (or both) of them from 2:30-6:30. It was awful. In the meantime, Quinn is sleeping in our bed and punching me in the face for the little bit of time I did get to lay down. I was so frustrated and tired. Leo was screaming (and his scream is LOUD). I don't know how he was awake because he didn't really nap and he had ice skating. Anyway... I went into his room and was laying on the floor next to his mattress (because he wants nothing to do with a bed) and he was about to go to sleep. Then he looked over and then back to his bed. He had his two blankets (his UC blanket and his train blanket, he loves them) and handed me his train blanket since I did not have one. It was the sweetest thing and made me cry. I was having some not so great mom moments and was so frustrated. Then he handed me his favorite blanket because I did not have one and my heart melted. It was exactly what I needed at that moment. He is such a sweet boy with a tender heart and I hope he stays that way. This morning is continuing to be a struggle with everybody being exhausted but I am very thankful for my little man who loves me enough to share his train blanket!
Leo is good, life is good

Finley is 4 months old

For Valentine's day Quinn wanted to make "celebration pancakes" that were pink. Finley got to help out with her crazy siblings and it was fun. There were sprinkles everywhere and a huge mess to clean up but the kids loved it. I loved watching everybody making them together. It got me so excited for when she will be a little bigger and get to interact and play with Q and Leo. Somedays are really rough with having them all close in age but I know it is going to be so fun when they are just a little bigger.
And now all of a sudden Finley is 4 months old! I can not believe it. She now sits in her bumbo and has started sitting in her exersaucer. She loves bath time and just sits there and listens to the water running. She is not a fan of headbands and really doesn't let me put them on her ever. She loves her siblings and when they talk to her. She has discovered her thumb and now her toes and always pulls on her left toes only. She is a mommas girl and keeps me up most nights with her frequent feedings. She really is an easy baby and we love having her here. She is a cutie pie too!

Getting a picture of the 3 of them is pretty impossible these days.

Leo LOVES Finley. He always needs to know where she is.

Leo's 2nd birthday

Leo is 2... that went so fast!!! We had a fun day celebrating Leo. Quinn went to school and we went to get Leo donuts. We spent the day playing with his new train table and waiting for daddy to get home so we could celebrate with cake and ice cream. After daddy got home, we had meatballs and rice for dinner (one of his favorite meals currently) and then had cake and ice cream and opened presents.

I think he is so handsome.
On your birthday you get to double fist donuts.

We had a Thomas cake and mini ice cream cones for his treat.
Sneaking some icing!

It took him a little bit to get the hang of blowing out the candle but once he did, he wanted to do it over and over again. Which worked out well because we could FaceTime the different grandparents and sing "happy birthday" with them. He did much better with his candle than Quinn did on her second birthday.
After cake we opened presents. He got a little people airport which he loved and grandma and grandpa got him a weed eater and a sword which was a big hit. When we got to Disney he got trains from Aunt Vicki and blocks and books from Aunt Danielle. He is a spoiled little boy.
Finely was exhausted after all the cake eating and present opening. I'm sure about 5 seconds after this picture was taken Dave was asleep too. They like to take naps together.
This was the day after Leo's birthday when we were all snuggling in bed. I just wanted to include it because I think it is sweet.

Leo is good, life is good!

Quinn's 4th Birthday

Wow- Quinn is 4!! I can't believe she is 4!! We had a great day celebrating her. She got to take a special treat to school for her special day and she picked chocolate donuts and "sticky" (glaze) donuts because some of her classmates do not like chocolate donuts (how sweet is that?). She also got to make a poster at school all about her, it was fun making it with her. When I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up (for her poster) she said "be like the mommies." I thought that was sweet, daddy was a little sad she didn't want to be a pharmacist but maybe she will change her mind.
She also had a Valentine's Day party at school that day and took Frozen Valentine's. She had a super cute "birthday girl" shirt that grandma got her and looked so big!
Working on her poster.
Daddy got her flowers and she loved it! It was sweet how excited she got when he came home with flowers. I think he has started a tradition that is going to continue for many years. She did ask why daddy didn't get mommy flowers. I told her things change when you get married. :)
She wanted a Cinderella cake and push pops for her ice cream treat. She picked out Tacos for dinner, she loves tacos and rice! We had a fun evening of cake and ice cream and opening presents. She got a Calico Critter house, furniture and a family and she absolutely loved it. Her and Leo spent the whole evening playing. Well, she let Leo play with the school house she got for Christmas so he would leave her house alone. Aunt Vicki got her a Frozen blanket that she loves and sleeps with every night now.

Since Leo's birthday was not that long ago, he became an expert candle blower and kept blowing out her candle before we got finished with "happy birthday."

We had a great day and love this little girl so much.

Quinn is good, life is good.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year! The kids are at such a fun age and it was fun to have Christmas as a family of 5. We went home for the first part of December to celebrate with family and spent Christmas in Utah with just us. On Christmas Eve we went ice skating and I was surprised at how much Leo loved it. Quinn liked it also but had a little difficulty. We decided to sign her up for classes after our trip because everybody had such a great time. It was fun spending the day together. We came home, put on our PJ's and then spent the rest of the day making cookies and watching Christmas movies together. We opened a special Christmas Eve Box that had reindeer food in it and a special key for Santa to get into our house since we don't have a chimney. They also got to open one present, magnetic blocks, which have been a big hit at our house. I have grown to love our low key holidays and making memories with the 5 of us.
This picture was taken before Christmas but I love it and think Q looks beautiful.

She wasn't having too much fun decorating cookies.

Calling the North Pole, she loves this!

Quinn and daddy tracking where Santa was on NORAD. She was so fun this year and really loved everything about Christmas, she's my girl!
Daddy got a selfie stick for Christmas and it was fun.

Leo's favorite present was this vacuum. He still uses it whenever he sees me cleaning. I love this picture.
We spent Christmas in our PJ's all day. We opened presents, ate breakfast, took naps and then played all evening. It was a great day and I love all the family time the holidays bring. Quinn was happy because Santa brought her the "kitty on wheels" she had been asking for and Leo got a lot of Paw Patrol toys. Momma was happy because I got the planner I wanted and daddy even put a cute picture of the family on it. I love Christmas!

Quinn was so happy with her kitty but Charlie doesn't love it so much.

Mermaid blanket.
Santa went a little bit crazy this year.
