Lazy Sunday

Yesterday we had a really lazy Sunday. It was nice because we have been so busy lately. We spent the whole day in our pajamas and watched football. Dave is getting very close to finishing up his Master's degree so he spent a little time in the office doing schoolwork but first he cleaned the whole kitchen and let me sleep in! He is a very good husband and daddy. Here is a video of him and Quinn being silly. She loves when Dave throws her around but it makes me so nervous!

It was really nice outside yesterday and Charlie was full of energy so we decided to take a walk. I found this super cute outfit in Quinn's closet that I forgot she had. We thought she looked so cute.

Quinn is getting so big. She loves to eat table food and isn't really interested in her bottle anymore. It does make dinner time a bit more of a mess. Her chair is always SO messy and we usually have to get a bath afterwards. The dogs love to sit around and wait for any droppings. She really LOVES feeding herself and smiles the whole meal. Here are some pictures of the little babe!

It was a great day! The wonderful day was followed by Quinn fighting her sleep until 12:15 am and falling asleep while sitting up. Ever since the move she has refused to sleep in her crib but will only sleep in our bed. She is such a stinker!
We are heading to Colorado for Thanksgiving on Wednesday. I will post about our trip when we get back.

Sundays are good, life is good!!

Happy Monday

Today Dave was off work for Veteran's Day so we decided to head down to Salt Lake City. It is about 45 minutes south of where we live. First we went to a place for breakfast called Park Cafe. It was a cute little place with an eclectic vibe. We absolutely loved it and will be going back. If you live in Utah, you should give it a try.
After breakfast we went to the Utah natural history museum. We got in free because we were military so that is always nice. It was a really nice museum with very pretty views of the mountains. Quinn enjoyed herself.

On the way home we stopped into Costco to get Quinn's formula (I can not wait until she is drinking regular milk..... that stuff is expensive!) and we found a Chipotle! There isn't one close to our house so we had to eat there for lunch!

When we got home I had Dave help me with some decorating. We are slowly getting the house together. Now that I know we will be here for at least 2 years I want to make it cute! The first picture is going down our basement stairs. I love how it turned out!

I have been looking for a bookshelf for Q's room for a while now and haven't found anything I like. On Saturday I stopped into a couple stores around Layton that are vintage and re-purposed shops. I found this super cute bookshelf and the old pictures. I think it turned out cute and it fits the space nicely. Her nursery in Ohio was SO cute..... this room isn't even close but I am trying! : )

Finally to end our day.... Quinn has decided to start walking behind her walking toy. She is getting too big!!!

Mondays with the hubs are good..... Life is good!

Where does the time go?!?!

Quinn is 9 months old! I can't believe it. She is getting so big... way too fast. She is getting super fast with her crawling and gets into EVERYTHING. Yesterday she tried to crawl while holding Dave's phone and fell on her face. It wasn't funny that she cried but it was funny that she was trying to crawl and hold the phone at the same time. She loves phones!  For Christmas we got her one of those cases for babies that you can put your phone in and they can play with it. We gave it to her yesterday.... and she loves it : )
Today she managed to get to the dog bowl before we could get to her and spilled the entire bowl full of water. The floor was soaked and she needed to be changed. She is talking up a storm and loves to wave and clap. She is the best and makes us laugh all the time. I just love her so much!
A quick summary about other less important things in our life: I started a new job and LOVE it. Which is good for the whole family because when mama isn't happy.... nobody is happy! : )  I am working at the Utah school for the deaf and blind. My entire caseload is children with hearing loss and I get to use ASL everyday. It really is an awesome job and I am excited to see what I can learn.
The dogs are good... I think they are finally adjusting to not getting very much attention. Charlie is very happy because we got about 6 inches of snow yesterday and he enjoys playing frisbee in it. Sammy hates the snow and uses the bathroom on the deck so that he doesn't have to walk out into it... awesome.
Dave's job is going well and he likes it. We have met some good friends and are enjoying our time in Utah. We just found out we will definitely be here for at least 2 years and are happy about that. Feel free to come out and visit...... it is SO pretty! : )

Happy Halloween!

Today was Quinn's first Halloween! It was a great day. We spent the morning going on a LONG walk with our friend and her babies. During our walk I saw a snake going under a bush and freaked out. So mom of the year right here, I left Quinn in her stroller by the bush and ran backwards like 10 feet while my friend Ashlee ran forward. Poor Quinn!
Quinn and I went to the commissary today and while we were waiting at the Deli she saw a balloon and kept grabbing for it and smiling. SO of course... I had to buy it for her. The whole shopping trip she just kept looking up at the balloon on our cart and smiling. She is the best ever!!
Dave got back from his TDY and we got to spend the afternoon with him. The weather here was perfect! It was beautiful and not very cold. While we were getting dinner ready we were rocking out to some Monster Mash music. Quinn loves music! She smiles, claps her hands and moves her body. I think I am going to have her a music themed birthday party because she loves it so much!
Quinn got her costume on and we passed out candy to all the kids in the neighborhood. There were not as many as I expected.
Charlie did pretty good this year because we don't have a window for him to see out of and freak out. The whole time Dave was gone he was acting crazy and wouldn't go outside or anything. Now he is doing much better! Quinnie passed out around 7:30, it was a long day for her! Here are some pictures of our little candy corn : )

Gardner Village

Today was perfect here in Utah! It was in the low 70's and sunny. Which is kind of weird since last week it was in the 30's and snowing! Today Quinnie and I joined my friend Ashlee and her kiddos on a trip to a little place called Gardner Village. It is a super cute little area with old houses that are filled with unique shops. For Halloween they have all these witches around the village doing various things. It was a fun day and I even bought a sign for our living room that got me inspired to start making our house a "home". I went to DI (if you live in Utah you know that this is Dessert Industries, a thrift store owned by the LDS church) and bought an end table for our living room. Then I went to Home Depot to buy some spray paint to make it match my sign. I realized when I got home that it doesn't match very much, so I shall be going back tomorrow with sign in hand to find the perfect color!
I don't start my new job until next week so I am hoping to get the table done this week. I am starting at the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind and am SO excited! My caseload is 23 little kiddos with hearing loss!!! *Pictures of the project and sign to follow in another post*
Here are pictures of our day. There were many attempts to get a "group shot" and we failed miserably but they are still cute. My favorite is the one where Luke is kicking the pumpkin like a soccer ball or futbol as Porter would say in Spanish.  : )

Trip to the zoo

A few weeks ago Dave had a Monday off for Columbus day. We went to the zoo with some of our friends. It was Quinn's first time to the zoo and at her age I didn't really expect too much from her but she loved it! She looked at all the animals and put her little hands on the glass.
While we were visiting the gorilla he decided to vomit and then go ahead and eat his vomit! It was so gross (please see picture below!). The weather was perfect and we had a great time. I think we will get a pass next summer, judging by how much Quinn loved it this year, I know next year she will love it more.
When my mom was in town we found this awesome place in downtown Salt Lake that sells waffles and fries-weird I know, but it is SO good!! The waffles are cinnamon and they put this cream and strawberries on them-YUM! Well since we were already downtown we had to stop by and get some waffles!
To finish up the day we went to the park with some friends and played Kan Jam. It was a good day!

Quinn even thinks it is gross : )

Snack time

I love this one <3 p="p">
