Bear World

This weekend we made the 3 hour trip to Bear World in Idaho. Dave saw it last year on our way home from Yellowstone and has wanted to go ever since. I am glad we waited to go until this summer because Quinn was able to enjoy it more. We drove up on Saturday and went to Mesa Falls. Quick story before we get to the Falls... before we left Quinn pushed Sammy off our bed. If you have ever seen our bed you know how big it is! His claw is almost ripped off and he is still having trouble walking so I need to take him to the vet tomorrow to get it looked at. When we were talking to my mom on the phone today Quinn said "Sammy push off bed." After I got on her about pushing him off the bed and telling her how we should not do that, she said "I want to see bears." She was clearly upset about the whole situation.
Our goal leave time on Saturday was 8 am and we were going to go to a zoo in Idaho before going to see the falls. We ended up leaving at noon and decided to skip the zoo. We are not very good at leaving on time, ever. I heard about Mesa Falls from a coworker and we were glad we checked it out.
Quinn is in a phase right now where she does NOT want any pictures taken, keep that in mind as you see the pictures on this post.

It was really beautiful.

We stayed in Rexburg which is where the campus of BYU Idaho is. Since we were willing to take a King size bed at check in they gave us an upgrade to the King Executive Suite. Yep... we stayed in the nicest room in the entire hotel... of the Springhill Suites... in Rexburg, Idaho (be jealous!). LOL
While out eating dinner a kid came up to us and said he saw Dave's Reds shirt and that he was from Cincinnati. It was fun to talk to him and chat about Graters Ice Cream.
On Sunday we got up early and headed to Bear World. Our goal time to get there was at 9 when they opened and we made it at 9:06!!! YAY
It was so much fun! Quinn loved it. I was the most surprised of how much she loved the little amusement rides they had. (I think she is going to love Disney this fall.) We had to bribe her with candy to get her to leave the rides. She rode each ride several times and just wanted to keep going back for more.
The park was very neat. First, we drove through the park and I couldn't believe how many bears and how close they get to your car. Then we did a tour where we got to ride in a large truck and feed the bears bread. They also have a petting zoo and duck pond where you can feed the animals. The baby bear cubs were so cute and we got to watch them eat. Quinn absolutely LOVED it!! She was so happy the whole day and I love getting to watch her excitement. I am not even kidding that she was asleep less than 2 minutes after we got in the car to leave.
It was a great family weekend and I think we will have to do another trip to Bear World before we leave Utah.

Her curls are beautiful.

Forgive the glare from the window. You are not allowed to roll your windows down while driving in the park.

Leo loves Bear World.

The bear cubs were 4 months old, just like Leo!

Quinn's birthday

I never posted about Quinn's birthday. My mom was in town so she got to help us celebrate Quinn turning 2. We went bowling and had pizza (both things Quinn loves) and opened presents on her actual birthday.
Then on Saturday we had a few friends over for a Minnie Mouse get together. We had a great 2-year old moment. I had special ordered her a cute Minnie Mouse shirt with her name on it and didn't let her see it before her birthday party because I knew she would LOVE it and want to wear it as soon as she saw it. My friend had also bought her a super cute pink polka dot Minnie skirt to match. Her party outfit was all set.... except that she refused to wear it! She screamed and cried and threw a fit until I let her pick out an outfit (pink leggings and a black and blue shirt....). Even now when I pull out the "birthday shirt" she screams "no Minnie." Which is weird because all she wants to wear now a days is Minnie or Princesses.
Quinn loved all her presents and loved her Minnie Mouse decorations. She did not love when a candle was put on her cake. I can't believe she is already two. She fills our home with so much love, laughter and joy. Our lives were so boring before she arrived. We love our little Quinnie.
She loves bowling.
She does not love candles.

Birthdays are good, life is good.

Leo is 3 months old!

Holy Cow!!! Where does time go?? I can not believe Leo is 3 months old already. He is the best little boy ever. Quinn is starting to really pay attention to him and shares her toys and snacks (yikes!) with him. When I pick her up from daycare and I have him she always says "oh so cute, Weo."
Speaking of daycare.... I went back to work 2 weeks ago. It has been craziness. I don't know how people do this. Luckily I only have 3 more weeks of work until summer and next year is up in the air as far as it goes with me working. Mornings are nuts!!! It takes me 2 hours (on a good day) from the time I get up until the time I get to work (and then I have to pump....). By time I get to work I am exhausted. Evenings are for recovering and before I know it, it is time to do it all again.

Tonight we did Leo's 3 month pictures and when I came upstairs with the camera I found Quinn like this. She loves to read books and her language is growing so fast I can't even keep up. She is using so many more words and remembering things. We went to the aquarium yesterday and when we called my mom today Quinn said "see snakes, see nemo, see turtle." I thought it was the cutest thing that she remembered what we did and wanted to share it with grandma.
Here is our little (not so little) Buddha. He is in the 86th percentile for weight, he's a chub. At daycare he is eating 4-5 ounce bottles every 2 hours. This boy loves his milk. This first picture is him with his hands in his mouth, he ALWAYS does this!! Loves to eat his hands.
Leo was not interested in pictures this evening and Quinn tried to help us get him to smile. She picked up his toy and was shaking it say "cheese Weo, cheese." I love her so much!
Quinn said "no Weo, no Weo. No Weo hold, too big." I mean my SLP friends have to be as excited as I am about that sentence!!!
We had a great Mother's day. It was a very lazy day and that is just fine with me!
