Grandmas Visit

Ok this one has a lot of pictures so be ready! My mom came out last week to help us get ready for the big move. I feel completely overwhelmed with getting everything ready, preparing to live in limbo for at least 2 months and emotionally leaving a place and friends that I love. It was so great to have my mom here for a week and help me and to just be here with us! We picked her up from the airport and headed straight to the zoo. I didn't get many zoo pictures but we had a great time.

Charlie was also very happy to see grandma. He followed her around the whole time she was here. He is going to be very happy to go back home and live at their house for a few months!
These 2 are growing so fast.
Leo playing a little "hockey" in the living room while watching the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Quinn was super happy that grandma could come and watch her ice skate.
We spent a lot of time in the basement going through the endless tubs of kids clothes and organizing them. My mom is the best and she really keeps me on track and helps me get things done!

The entire week grandma was here somebody was sick. All the kids have been passing something around for weeks. Quinn really takes advantage of not feeling well and makes sure you are "taking care of her." She always wants you to check her "head fore" to see if she has a "fev." Well, she didn't go to school on Thursday because of a fever and on Friday she was crying about her head hurting so I took her to the doctor. I am glad we went because she had strep throat. She is a trooper, her throat looked awful and she never complained about it one time.
We were busy all week getting things done so we treated ourselves by going to Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks over the weekend. By going to both parks we completed the "Mighty 5" and went to every National Park in Utah. I must say that they are all beautiful but my favorite is Arches.
The weather was much cooler than we anticipated on Saturday at Bryce so we used what we had in the car to keep warm! And of course, Leo lost his hat at the visitor center so the poor guy was probably cold all day! It was a great day and the park is beautiful. We drove to all of the overlooks and then hiked to the Walls section of the park. The hike was absolutely beautiful and it was my favorite part of the day. We went to dinner at a cute restaurant and ended the day by swimming in the pool. Leo had no fear and was jumping in even if you were not ready for it! We will have to watch him this summer. Staying in the hotel room with all the kids got me really nervous about this summer. We are going to be living with other people and in hotel like situations for a long time and it is so tough with little ones!

The views were gorgeous.

Here is the start of our hike. Part of the path is closed (due to rocks falling), so it used to be a loop but now you have to hike down to the Wall section and then turn around and go back the way you came. It made the hike much longer and also pretty difficult while carrying a child on your back because one way is all up hill! While on this hike, a man was out on a ledge (where he probably should not have been) and Quinn looked over and said "he is going to fall and bust his anus." She definitely got that from her papaw!

Leo was not interested in being carried. He finally calmed down and ended up enjoying the hike.
I love these pictures and this little girl. She was such a trooper and hiked the entire time! I was so exhausted at the end so I don't know how she did it. She is our little traveler.

The colors were beautiful.

After several attempts, Leo finally let me take a picture.
Dave and Leo are at the bottom and my mom and Quinn are way at the top!

We were all ready for dinner and fun after that hike!

On Sunday we got up and hit the road. We took a beautiful drive to Capitol Reef National Park. I am so glad we decided to visit this park. It was so pretty. I really wish we could have stayed longer or that we had more time to go back for another trip. It has the red rocks that I love about Arches but it is also so very green! I bought a book about the history of this park because it used to be a Mormon settlement. We were all tired and the kids were kind of over the trip so we didn't do any hikes at this park. Instead we did a little driving, had a picnic and then finished with dessert at a cute little house in the park. We had a great weekend and I am happy that my mom was able to come with us to visit these parks.

We stopped for a quick picture because at this point everybody was ready to get out of the car. Quinn had a good meltdown because we didn't get her out of the car to get the picture with us, so next time we will!

These two crack me up. They are the sweetest together.

We love having grandma come and visit us!!

Here are just some fun pictures to finish out the post. Quinn wanted to take a selfie with mommy and daddy.

Quinn took this picture of grandma and Finley.
Those little baby boobs are the cutest!

Grandmas are good, life is good.
