Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

My parents came back to Utah to spend some time with us after Vegas. Everybody is happy when they are here and the dogs are no exception. Charlie and Sammy love when they visit and Charlie is aways near one of them the whole time. They spoil him and take him on walks every morning. He is very sad when they leave.

We tried to get in as much as we could while they were here visiting and on Monday we went to the Treehouse Museum. The kids love this place and it was so much easier to take them with extra adults. I didn't feel like I spent the entire visit chasing children in circles. Everybody had fun playing at the museum and Quinn loved showing grandma and grandpa all of her favorite things. It was a fun afternoon.

I entered week 26 in my pregnancy while they were here visiting! Holy cow, time is flying.

Showing Grandpa her dress up gear.
On Tuesday we went to Bear Lake (that is another post) and then on Wednesday we just spent the day relaxing and hanging out in the backyard because we thought they were leaving that evening. We took them to the airport and then on our way home Quinn was saying how much she missed them and wanted to go back and see them some more. Then my phone rang and somehow my mom had got their dates wrong and they didn't leave until the next day! Quinn was so excited that we got to turn around and pick them back up.
We got home and went on a walk and ended the evening with this beautiful rainbow. Quinn was pretty excited that she had a rainbow on her shirt for the rainbow picture.
Aunt Vic got Leo this monkey while we were in Vegas and he loves it. He sleeps with it every night and carries it around all the time. Here he is saying "cheese" with his monkey.
Since we had an extra day with Grandma and Grandpa Q voted to take them to the zoo. This was the first time this year we were at the zoo during the day and we had a great time. We were able to watch some of the programs that they put on and even got to see the bird show for the first time. Everybody had a blast and it was a great way to end their visit. It wasn't too hard saying goodbye this time because the kids and I were going to Ohio 4 days later.

Here are a few extras. Leo loving on his monkey and Quinn saying "cheese." I love these little people.

I entered week 27 after my parents left! Looking back at this picture I can't believe how small my belly was, I have definitely popped since then. I love that Q always wants in the picture with me.

Vegas Trip

Back in July we drove down to Vegas for a quick trip to pick up my parents. They were down there for a long weekend trip with some of my family and then were coming up to our house for the rest of the week. This has been the longest since Quinn has gone without seeing Grandma and Grandpa (Grandma in January, Grandpa in December) and for the month leading up to their visit she talked about how much she missed them. I think living away from family is going to get harder the older she gets because now she knows when we don't see them and she misses them!
She was so excited when we parked and were on the elevator to find grandma!
We got in really late Friday night and the kids stayed up way past their bedtime because they were so excited to be with grandma and grandpa. Sleeping in a hotel room with Leo right now is very challenging. He is used to his routine and when he isn't able to be put down awake and left alone he will not go to sleep. Needless to say we didn't sleep very much that weekend and it wasn't because we were out partying in Vegas! On Saturday we went to breakfast and then back to the hotel to go to the pool. The kids loved the wave pool and Leo kept diving in face first. For dinner we went to a buffet with the whole family and then my mom watched the kids so Dave and I could go on a little date night.
She loved wearing papaw's hat around the hotel room.
Leo loved that he could see the pool from the window and anytime we were in the room he just wanted to stand here and look down at the pool.
When you are in Vegas with 2 kids the ice bucket is used to keep milk cold and not booze.
Reading books with Grandma.
Dave and I got to play in the family slot machine pool one night. It was fun to be able to hang out with everybody while my mom watched the kids for us. I didn't last too long and was upstairs in bed pretty early. Dave and my dad are troopers and they were downstairs almost all night together.

The kids absolutely loved the pools. We spent a lot of time at the pools while we were there. The weather wasn't too hot and it wasn't crowded at all. Both of our kids are water babies!

Sunday we spent a little time at the pool and then grabbed a quick lunch and hit the road for home. The kids were so excited that Grandma and Grandpa would be coming back to our house. We had a good time in Vegas seeing all the family and Dave got to do a little gabling also. The kids loved the pool so I think it was a win-win for everybody!

Florida Trip

While I was home Dave and I went to Florida for a few days to attend an award ceremony he was a finalist for and to get in some beach time to celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary. It was nice to already be in Ohio so I could leave the kids with my parents and then just meet him in Orlando. I was so nervous about leaving the kids and cried the whole day before we left. It was the longest time I had been away from either of them and I didn't know if I would be able to enjoy myself. Well.... I was! I did miss them very much but it was a much needed time alone for Dave and I and we were able to relax and enjoy a kid free long weekend!
I flew down to Orlando to meet him on Thursday and attend the Next Generation Pharmacist Award Ceremony that evening. Our Hotel was a Universal Studio Resort Hotel and was designed to look like Italy and it was so nice. We took a water taxi to lunch at the streets of Universal Studios then went back to our hotel for a nap before the ceremony that evening. I never realized how nice it is to be able to take a nap whenever you want until I had children! That evening we went to the award ceremony. It was very nice and was held at a sound stage at Universal Studios. The cocktail hour before and dessert hour after were outside underneath a roller coaster. It was a very nice evening and to make it even better, Dave won his category! He won the Next Generation Pharmacist for the Military section. He has worked very hard and it was nice to see him be recognized for his hard work. We had a great evening and enjoyed ourselves.

On Friday morning we got up (semi) early and headed to the beach! We stopped for breakfast at Bob Evans on the way. We don't have them in Utah so as soon as I saw one, we had to stop. We picked Siesta Key since it was only 2 hours from Orlando and was rated the #1 beach in America. Don't get me wrong, the beach was beautiful and we had a great time but whoever ranked it #1 has never been to a beach in Hawaii!
We had a super cute cottage that was the perfect location. It was right across the street from the beach and only a few minutes walk from the downtown area for dinners and shopping. The other cottage on the property was not rented while we were there so we had our own pool and hot tub which was great. As soon as we checked in Friday we headed to the beach to relax. It is amazing how much we just sat there! Before kids we would go to the beach for a little bit but then would go find something to do. This time we went to the beach, set up our chairs and umbrellas and just sat there reading and napping and enjoying watching all the families chase their kids around! The weather was really nice and we enjoyed most mornings at the beach followed by swimming at our pool then walked to the village for dinner. It was pretty great.
Our first night at dinner. We had really good meals while we were there. This was also my last night in my 20s!
29 weeks with baby girl.
This is how I spent my 30th birthday followed by some amazing crab cakes for dinner. I can not complain. It was a very relaxing day and I loved being able to spend it with Dave.

Our own pool where we spent a lot of time relaxing.
We were lucky to be able to see Rupal while we were there. They are now stationed in Tampa and she drove down to hang out with us and have dinner. It was so good to see her and I wish we were still stationed together!
We ended the trip with an amazing sunset on the beach. I can not believe I am 30 years old or that we have been married for 5-years or that we are having our 3rd baby in a short while! Time really does go fast and I am learning everyday to enjoy each day and each phase of life because before I know it we are on to the next one! I am so lucky to be married to Dave and love the fun we have together and the family we have created. It was a great vacation and I am glad we were able to go thanks to my amazing parents!!
