Food Truck evening

Last week we heard about a food truck event that was taking place near our house so we decided to walk there for dinner. We have never been to one of these before so we were not sure if they took credit cards. Dave and I had very little cash between us so we raided Quinn's piggy bank and got out enough cash so we could all enjoy something to eat (don't worry, we paid will pay it back). It was really cute because Quinn got one of her change purses out and put enough money in it so that she could buy a cupcake from the cupcake truck. The weather was great and we packed up the wagon and headed off to eat dinner. We learned on the way back, after finding our umbrella laying on the sidewalk, that Leo likes to throw things out of the wagon and now needs to be watched if there are items in the wagon with him.

There were a lot of different trucks to pick from and we ended up getting something from 5 out of the 9 trucks that were there. The kids both got cupcakes and mac-n-cheese, Dave got wings and fries, I got a pulled pork sandwich with mac-n-cheese on top and we finished the evening with corn dogs (for the kids) and a waffle for the walk home.

We brought our blanket and sat down to enjoy dinner. The kids loved eating outside and running around. The food was really good and we had a great time.

We clearly had not eaten enough food while we were there so we grabbed a few items to munch on during our walk home. Quinn ended up not liking the corn dog so Leo gladly helped her finish it.

I will never get tired of that view of the mountains.  Leo is loving the corn dog in this picture.

To finish off the evening we stopped at the school near our house for a little playing on the playground and to see the goats at the near by farm. Leo loved the big kid slides and Quinn did not want to leave, she loves playgrounds.

It was a great evening and we were talking about how we couldn't wait to go back the next week and do it again. That was until a few hours later when I got sick with food poisoning and my new found love of food trucks quickly came to an end. I don't think I will be eating from a food truck in the near future. However, the time with family was great and the kids had a wonderful time and they did not get sick… I should have stuck with cupcakes and mac-n-cheese.

Family nights are good, life is good.
