Baby Jarnot #2 is a.........

My friend Ashlee threw us a "gender reveal" party yesterday. We had a few of our friends over to help us discover what we are having! Everybody knows I am impatient so I went and got a gender ultrasound as soon as I could. THEN, I had to wait ALL DAY to find out! I am glad I waited and didn't cheat because it was so much fun. Here are some pictures of the evening:

How cute!

Dave thought boy and I thought girl.

Getting ready........

It's blue!!!!

She is not happy about having a baby brother! (Or maybe she just didn't like the silly string.)

Family of 3 soon to be 4!

We had fun spending the evening with our friends and finding out baby Jarnot #2 is a BOY! We have a lot of shopping to do but I am super excited for our growing family.

Busy Busy Summer

This summer is flying by! We have been very busy and doing lots of fun things. I can't believe I go back to work in a few short weeks.  I will blog about each thing below individually (hopefully) but for now I will give a quick run down:

We went to Colorado and spent Father's Day weekend with the family. It was fun to watch my sister-in-law's dance studio recital and we got to see baby Braxton and Grandpa Richard.

The next week we went to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks after I attended a hearing loss conference. It was such a fun trip and the parks were beautiful. We are looking forward to going back again.

I was very lucky and got to spend 3 weeks in Ohio and see my family. My brother came home and it was the first time we saw him in 13 months! I got to relax a lot at home because my mom is a saint. Quinn and Nolan have a love/hate relationship and are so fun to watch together. We had the 5th annual cornhole tournament and Dave and my Aunt Vicki were the winners. We did lots of other fun things that I will talk about in a later post.

We also did all of this while I have been having extreme morning (all day) sickness!!!!

We are very excited to announce that baby Jarnot #2 will be arriving around February 3, 2014. This pregnancy has been much more difficult then Quinn's. I have been SO sick since 6 weeks and here we are at week 13 and it is still rough. I know it is all worth it and Dave keeps telling me "I will forgot all about it soon" and I hope that is true.
We may be in trouble with little Miss Quinn when baby comes. The other day she shoved her baby doll into her toy stove and while visiting some friends' newborn yesterday, she threw herself on the floor crying when I held the baby!
Speaking of Quinn, she is a talking machine! I think she picks up a new word everyday. Her new words for this weekend were "yu you" (love you) and waffle. I will do a whole "Quinn Post" and update you on all of her fabulousness soon.

I hope you enjoyed the quick update on our lives and I will be sharing more soon.

Finally Warm Weather

This post is a bit of a catch up since I haven't posted in a few weeks. It is finally feeling like summer here. It still gets cold at night but the day time is perfect. It stays light so late, the sun doesn't set until after 9 every night. Tomorrow is my last day of work and Quinn's last day of daycare until August. I am so excited for all the fun to begin!! We have so many plans this summer, I can't wait!!!
A few weekends ago we went to Denver to meet the newest addition of the family, baby Braxton. She is the cutest thing! It was a great weekend and I am excited we get to go visit again shortly. We relaxed, played kick ball, made smores and went to the aquarium. Dave and Quinn got soaked at the aquarium at the flood exhibit and Quinn was traumatized. I hope that she doesn't remeber it! After the soaking she was not interested in seeing any fish or getting close to the tanks. Marcel and Reese are getting so big and they are such a great help with the babes of  the fam. Quinn didn't really pay much attention to Braxton but she did however steal her pacifier. She loved that thing.

This past Sunday it was HOT so we went and bought Quinn a little pool with a slide. That might have been a bad idea because I think all I am going to do all summer is help her up that slide. She loved the pool. Her swimsuit is a 12-18 month but it does not hold in her belly.

Daddy helping Q down the slide. She will actually let me put a hat on her now.

Charlie had a plastic pool that got broke in the move, I should have submitted to TMO :). We need to get him a new one because I don't want them to be sharing a pool all summer. The amount of hair he loses is out of control. These two absolutely love each other!

Quinn was all about my hat on Sunday. She kept taking it from me and putting it on. It was so cute but she was not interested in getting a picture. These were the best I could get.

After a bit of swimming while daddy washed all 3 of the cars (I had to make sure Quinn was safe....) we ran some errands and then had dessert on the back patio. Q is a big fan of anything sweet. Currently her favorite foods include: cheese, bread, guacamole, hummus, blueberries and any dessert. She is a pig, the amount of food she eats amazes me. She is eating out of my bowl. Since she feeds herself now she will NOT allow you to feed her anything. This includes if you are just giving her a bite of your food. She will just steal it and begin to chow down.

This is what will happen if you press your face against the fire pit cover.

Like I said, tomorrow is Q's last day of daycare until August. They are not able to guarantee that she will get back in the same room (or that they will have a spot at all but we are taking our chances....) which makes me so sad. When we moved rooms I was upset and missed her old teachers but her new teachers have been AMAZING. For a gift we got them a bubble cup (which you can freeze and no need for ice!) filled with candy, a gift card to the local cupcake bakery and a note that says "Thank you for being so "sweet" this year. Have a great summer. Love Quinn."

There is a quick review on what we have been up to. We have lots of fun summer plans that I will try and keep you all updated on.

Summer is good, life is good.

Pretty dress

My Aunt Libby got Quinn the cutest dress. She wore it to church last Sunday so I had to share pictures!  Quinn loves wearing dresses. After she is dressed she will look down at her dress and touch it. Then she will say "shoes, shoes" and wait for you to put her shoes on.
After church this week we tried a new breakfast place in Layton called Mad Dog's Cafe. I have driven by it a bunch but we have never been. It was great. The service was so friendly, the food was excellent and the prices were cheap. The bacon was so good that I got an order to go. The lattes were also amazing!  I think we have found our local breakfast joint! When we got home we went out back to check the new gazebo (I will post about our new patio furniture after I get some pictures) and make sure it made it through the storm the night before. Quinn started to play in her dress and it was so cute. I had to get some pictures and then hurry up and change her so she didn't ruin it!

Bath time fun

Quinn loves baths. They are her favorite. If you ask if she wants to get a bath she will start to climb up the stairs. She stands next to the tub and watches it fill with water. She loves to splash and read her water books. However, she is not a fan of getting her hair rinsed. I realized the other day that I don't have any pictures of her in the bathtub so I got my camera out and snapped a few pictures last bath time. The dogs are also a fan of bath time. Charlie likes to climb INTO the tub and get out her toys. The bathroom is way too small for all of us so they always get banned to the hallway.

After her bath it is a mad rush to get her pajamas on. She gets cold so fast and her teeth start to chatter. Next we brush her teeth which she loves! She takes her finger and starts to brush and says "t-t". Then before bed we read books. Quinn LOVES books. She will let you ready 5-10 books to her and she will just sit there. After each book she says "we bu" or "more" and I just can't help but read another one. She is getting very good at going to sleep in her crib by herself which is so nice for us!

3-years of wedded bliss

Dave and I celebrated our 3-year wedding anniversary on Monday. I can't believe it has been 3 years! I had Monday off work and Dave took it off too so we could spend it together kid free. We took Q to day care and went for a scenic drive in the jeep. The weather was perfect, it was sunny and 87 degrees. We went on the Logan scenic byway up Logan Canyon to Bear Lake. It was beautiful! The drive runs along the Logan River and takes you to some great overlooks and you end at Bear Lake where they have AMAZING raspberry shakes. There was still snow some places which was fun to see since it is May! The temperature was MUCH colder when we got to Bear Lake then the rest of the drive so that made driving with the Jeep top down a little chilly. We finished the day at an Indian restaurant in Logan.
We had a great day. I love our anniversary because we spend much of the day talking about all the things that have happened since we got married and laugh about our wedding day.  These past 3-years have had MANY changes and I wouldn't change a thing! I love my husband!

Quinn Update

This post is full of random Quinn updates. She is getting so big! Almost 15 months!!! I have a funny story that happened tonight: we were at our neighbors house hanging out and they have a 3 year old. Quinn and her were playing on the slide together and the little girl wouldn't go down the slide fast enough for Q. Quinn sat behind her and started doing her counting approximations and then pushed her and said "bye". It was so funny. When she says "bye" and "book" it sounds like she has a southern twang, it is the cutest. That brings me to all of her talking!! She is saying about 15 words regularly and using 9 signs. Her newest words are: banana, thank you and she will say "we bu" for read book. I love hearing all of her language.
Her most favorite thing to do in the house is to play in the dog bowl. She loves to splash in the water and to move the food into the water bowl. The other day I was trying to get dinner cooked and she was determined to keep playing in the bowl no matter what I did or gave her. I just gave in and took her clothes off and let her go at it.

Last weekend it was beautiful so we decided to go to the zoo. We went on Sunday and didn't think it would be crowded because all the Mormons go to church all day on Sunday and there is never anybody out. Well, every non-Mormon in Utah also decided to go to the zoo that day and it was packed! We didn't stay very long because it was just too crazy. We bought passes so we figured we can go back anytime we want. Quinn's favorite part of the zoo is at the seal and sea lion tank where you can see them swimming. I swear she would sit there all day if we let her. Every time they would swim by she started hitting the glass and cracking up. She LOVES water!!

Today we had a great day. We started going to the Catholic Church on base and we really like it. Quinn did great today, last week she was a little cranky but this week was good. We went out to breakfast after church and Quinn was having a great time yelling out the window. When we got home she started pushing around the laundry basket. I put Sammy in for a ride and Quinn had a blast. She was cracking up and kept pushing him and pulling him around. Charlie didn't like it very much and kept sniffing at Sammy and trying to get in her way. Every time he got in the way she would smack at him and tell him to "stop". Then she climbed into the basket and I pushed her and Sammy around the room, she was cracking up. It was such a fun time!

Parents of the  year- we ate breakfast and dinner out today. Quinn is SO big! She didn't even need a highchair, she rocked the booster seat the whole time. Clearly, she was not interested in taking pictures at dinner.

Hope you enjoyed my random update on our little gal. She is just so fun right now and brings so much joy and happiness to our lives. We love her!
