Easter Fun

Last weekend we went to the Air Force Museum with some friends for the Easter Egg hunt. The kids had so much fun. Quinn and her friend Zoey ran around and grabbed eggs with the dads and Leo and Zach stayed with the moms. Leo was all about the eggs and kept trying to go through the rope to get to them. Then when the egg hunt started and he was actually allowed to go get them, he freaked out. He just stood there and screamed. So I put an egg in his basket to help show him what he needed to do and he tossed his basket all around until the egg came out and just cried. Finally, I opened an egg to show him that there was candy inside and then he was all about the eggs. At that point the hunt was about over so I helped him throw some eggs in his basket before they were all gone. We headed over to find the big girls and they were all so excited to dump their candy into their baskets. It was a fun morning with friends, we are going to miss them very much!
After the Easter egg hunt, we had some time before ice skating so we went and grabbed breakfast at one of our favorite spots. It is starting to really hit me that we are leaving Utah and it makes me so sad. I have really loved our time here and now every time we do something (i.e. eat at a place) I think it might be our last time there! We had a great breakfast and Quinn started to cut her own pancakes. She also orders for herself now too! I can't believe how big she is getting!
After breakfast, we went ice skating. The kids were so tired at that point, Leo just kept trying to lay on the ice. Quinn did great and skated from one side of the rink to the other all by herself. She is getting so good and I am proud of her for all her practice! Leo is a natural and everybody always tells us how they can't believe how good he is for his age.
We had a great day as a family and finished it off by being lazy and watching basketball! I love days like these!

Dave snapped this picture while I was trying to grab some sleep. It never fails that by the morning all the kids end up in our bed. It can get a little crowded and difficult to sleep but I know these times won't last long and before I know it I will want them to come snuggle with me in bed. I think we just need to get a bigger bed and that will solve the problem.
Finley is now eating bananas, pears, sweet potatoes and rice cereal. She acts like she doesn't like to eat it at first but then she will eat a ton! I can't believe we are already feeding her food, it has gone so fast.

Leo likes to sneak outside while I am in the kitchen fixing food. He loves to play with "Char-chee" and tries to whistle at him and throw his frisbee. It is the cutest. Charlie just follows him around the yard.
Leo usually gets out of bed before me and I try to get downstairs the same time as him but sometimes with needing to change Finley or getting Quinn something, he beats me. The other morning I came down and he had pulled the toaster out of the cabinet (lower cabinet thankfully) and grabbed a waffle from the freezer and put it in the toaster. I was cracking up! Thankfully he didn't try to plug it in or put in on the counter.
The day before Easter we dyed eggs. I'm not going to lie, I really dislike this part of Easter fun. It is messy and I don't like messy. The kids had a great time though. Leo liked to throw his egg into the cup as hard as he could and make a huge splash while cracking the egg at the same time. It was great fun for everybody except mom! The kids made some cute eggs and had a blast. Quinn loved the glitter and putting stickers on them. They loved reading a book Aunt Danielle sent last year about the Easter bunny coming to Cincinnati. We have read it so many times and it has the kids so excited for "Flop" the Easter bunny to come to our house.

Our princess.

When grandparents are far away we like to include them in our fun by FaceTime.

Leo's face cracks me up. I love the little boy he is growing up to be, he has my whole heart.
This morning the kids were so excited Flop came to our house. Quinn woke up first and went to wake up Leo. He was still tired and wasn't ready to get up so she got to the baskets before him. They were so excited about their Snackeez cups. Quinn has seen commercials on TV and asked for one forever. All day they walked around with their cups and yelled "Snackeez" like on the commercial, good adverting I guess. We had a great day of playing with their new toys, eating lots of yummy food and really just spending time together which is the most important of all. It is hard to be away from family on holidays but we are making our own memories and traditions and I think today was a pretty great day. Quinn kept calling it "Easter Day" which I loved.
The kids had a blast hunting eggs and Quinn got more than Leo, she was so fast. Every time Leo saw an egg he would yell (in his version) "ehh" and run to grab it. We had so much fun finding the eggs!

Leo loves his new fire truck and Quinn was pretty happy with her new Calico Critters pieces.

I got my camera out to get a few pictures of Finley on her new play mat and next thing I knew everybody wanted to get a picture. I am glad they did because I think I got some cute ones. These three keep me on my toes and generally keep me from sleeping but I love them so much.

We spent the afternoon playing in the front yard and riding bikes and scooters. I am excited for warmer weather and more time outside. We had a blessed Easter and I am so very thankful for my family and that He is Risen.

Life is good, He is good!

Last Day of Disney

Well, better late than never right? We went to Disney in February to celebrate Quinn and Leo's birthday and I am just now getting around to finishing up blogging about our trip. I will try to write as much as I can remember based on the pictures but it will probably be short since it was SO LONG ago.
Our trip to Disney was amazing, like it is each time! We were so happy my parents could join us again especially since we had the big move coming up and we knew it was their last trip out to Utah. It was also fun because Julie, Han and Braxton joined us too. On the last day at the park we decided to take the tram from Downtown Disney to the park to help save on some walking. The kids loved riding the tram and looking out the windows. It is a fun way to cut some walking distance down!!

We rode Buzz Lightyear but for our little sensitive guy, the waiting area was too loud. When he rides this ride he will sit on your lap and cover his ears and refuses to touch the gun and play the game. He doesn't cry but just sits their quietly! I may be repeating from the other Disney post but I can't remember which day we did what. Quinn rode both Space Mountain and the StarWars ride and she loved both of them. We did the parent swap so I could also ride Space Mountain with her. I thought for sure she was going to fall out so I held onto her the entire ride! The grown ups got to ride Indiana Jones as well which is always a fun ride, thanks to my brave momma for watching all 4 kids while we rode it!
We also went and watched the Magical Map show with Mickey and other friends. It is a fun musical show and Quinn likes it because Pochantas is in it, she doesn't make a lot of appearances at Disneyland so we like that we can catch her there.

We went to Toon Town so that Quinn and Braxton could ride the little roller coaster ride, they both loved it. I love Toon Town, it is so cute and magical.
No Disney trip would be complete without a trip to see the princesses! I just can't get over Q's faces in these pictures, she really was in heaven. Disney is the greatest, it is so fun to watch how much the kids enjoy it. People think they are too little and won't remember these trips but I think they will and I love seeing how much fun they have anyway even if they don't remember! She is at such a great age and really thinks it is magical.

Looking back at these pictures, I can't believe how little Finley was! She looked super cute the entire time in her minnie outfits. She also got a lot of grandma snuggles. Julie, Han and Braxton had to head back halfway through the day to catch their flight so we finished their time at It's a Small World. I remember riding this ride as a kid on our family trips to Disney World. Leo was asleep in the stroller so Dave took one for the team and sat outside with him so we didn't have to wake him up!

When we came outside, we found both of them sleeping. Disney is fun but it is EXHAUSTING!!
We said good-bye to Julie, Han and Braxton and then rested for a little bit before heading back to the park. Finley also got a lot of papaw snuggles too. Our condo was perfect and it was so nice to be able to go back and rest for a little bit.

We ended our magical trip with watching the night time parade one more time. We ended up getting an awesome spot and grandma and papaw watched the kids while Dave and I went and rode Star Wars together with our parent swap tickets. Really, our spot was perfect and it was the best way to end the trip watching the parade one more time.

After the parade we realized that California Adventure was still open and being that Cars Land at night is our favorite part of Disney, we headed over so we could see it the kids could ride the Tow Mater ride one more time. It was a great way to end a very memorable trip!

At one point on the way home from the parks, Leo was LICKING the sidewalk (I guess we know how tired he was!) and a few hours after being back at the condo he started puking everywhere! I don't know if it was a bug he caught, from licking the sidewalk or eating a bunch of random food that day but it was awful. He puked on so many of the condos blankets and pillows. We tried to clean up and wash as much as we could that night and the next day but we had to check out and hit the road so my parents didn't miss their flight out of Las Vegas. I called the condo owner and apologized profusely! I don't know what it was but he didn't get sick at all on our 10 hour drive home thankfully!! We had the very best time at Disney and these trips will always be some of my best memories from our time in Utah...... now onto Disneyland Paris!! :)

Mickey Mouse is good, family is good, life is SO VERY GOOD.
