Fun in the snow

I should not be surprised that it is snowing here in Utah but that doesn't mean I have to like it. My friend informed me the other day that it sometimes snows in Utah into May!! I told Dave that our next assignment better be somewhere warm. My school has not been canceled one time due to snow but we did get a 2 hour delay one time because there was an inch of ice. I am getting used to driving in the snow that is for sure. One member of our family that really enjoys the snow is Charlie. He loves when you throw the frisbee to him and he loves getting the snow thrown at him. I took him outside while Dave shoveled the driveway and he had a blast.

Visit from family

The weekend of Quinn's birthday party my mom, sister and Nolan came into town. It was so nice to have them here! It really meant a lot to me that they came into town to help us celebrate Quinn's birthday. It was so cute to see Quinn and Nolan get excited when they saw each other at the airport. They are so fun together now, they run after each other and play together. I love seeing them together. We had her party on Saturday and they were staying in town  until Wednesday. We went to Ikea to get a shelf for Quinn's new play area in the basement, to the aquarium, the Treehouse museum and the Air Force museum and we ate dinner in a covered wagon. We had a busy time but we had so much fun.
The kids loved the Treehouse museum and were running around like crazy. Quinn was smiling so big the whole time and it made me happy. One evening we went to Antelope Island to see the sunset. It was very cool because we also got to see a herd of antelope up close. We had the kids out of their cars seats (we were inside the park with no other cars driving about 5 miles per hour.... ) and they were looking out the windows at the antelope. Nolan started barking at them and then Quinn followed. They both thought they were so funny. I can't wait to see my family again, goodbyes are always so hard.

Quinn's first birthday party

Today we had Quinn's first birthday party. I CAN NOT believe a year ago on this day I was big and fat and tired and this year my little babe celebrated her first year! Time flies-especially when you have a baby. Her actual birthday is Monday so we are going to have a fun filled day then also. My mom, sister and Nolan came  in yesterday for the party and it was so nice to have them here! They were a huge help.

Quinn's birthday party theme was "Oh the places she will go" because of all the traveling she will be doing because of her daddy. I did a map theme with pastel colors and I think it turned out so cute. Quinn was in a great mood the whole party and loved her cake. My favorite part of the party was when everybody started to sing "Happy Birthday" to her and she got the biggest grin on her face. It warmed my heart. She loved opening her presents (BIG THANKS to all our family that mailed her gifts/cards and sent them with my mom-we love and miss you guys!) and wanted to keep playing with them instead of opening a new one. After the party Quinn was so wired and was running around like a crazy women! It was so funny. 

A lot of our local friends came and we had a fun turn out with lots of little kiddos running around. Thanks to all of our friends and family that came to the party and helped us celebrate our little babe!
